I need some tips for farming a Tattered Fan or two - Guild Wars Forums

Basically, I've been trying to get a Tattered Fan for my Monk, but today I farmed for 3 and a half hours (in normal mode) and didn't get a single drop. I was using a slightly modified version of the SoA 55 build, but I guess the main problem is that there are very few Rits in the mobs, and the ones that are around take ages to kill. Are there any particular skills I should consider bringing? Or even use a different class?

My current stats are:

Mo/Me

Healing 0 + 3
Protection 11 + 3
Divine 10 + 3
Smiting 11 + 1 + 3

Protective Spirit, Shield of Absorption, Zealot's Fire, Mantra of Resolve, Shield of Judgment, Balthazar's Spirit, Blessed Aura, Mending.

Also I'm aware of the duplicate items, Forgotten Fan and Frozen Fan, if they are any easier, please feel free to drop some pointers about them as well.

I'm assuming you mean the +5 armor/-5E/+30H off-hand that drop from the Jade Brotherhood rits in that area at the north end of the Bazaar?

Just keep clearing the area over and over again until one drops - boring, I know, but you should eventually get it.

My first rit has one that I got as a random drop ages ago; when I made another rit, I decided I wanted one for him, too. I guess I was lucky - I got it on the 7th or 8th try, iirc.

Can't really offer any advice on your build, I always farm with a full party of heroes/hench.
